Good strategy, bad strategy
"Simply put, we decided to focus on three improvement initiatives in order. First, we focused solely on improving the quality of our machines for a period of 12 months. We declared that we would create the most reliable and efficient machines in the industry within a year, and we were completely devoted to that goal. Once we achieved the quality improvement, we turned our attention to sales education. We had salespeople participate in the first stage of quality improvement, but this time, engineers and workers in the manufacturing department became responsible for education. We knew that results wouldn't come immediately, but we had to make the upfront investment to reap the rewards later on."
Chicken and egg problem, but it's important to do things one at a time (A decision-making problem)

Choosing something means throwing something away
Passive skills
You can't achieve results by simply copying one or two things. Even if you copy one or two things, it will only cost you more, and you won't be able to compete with IKEA.
